Provinces of Negros and Cebu under tsunami alert level 2 after series of eathquakes hit these areas. "Philvolcs tsunami alert level is now 2. The concerned public is advised to be on alert for unusual waves. People are advised to stay away from the shoreline. People should not go to the coast to watch the tsunami. People whose houses are very near coastal areas in Negros and Cebu islands areadvised to be watchful" Phivolcs said. PHIVOLCS, recorded 6.9 magnitude. Some people panicked upon hearing and reading the report from text and verbal communication. There were many misinterpretations, some say that Negros was hit by tsunami which is not true, but it was a warning or alert to make the people be more prepare in case the the tsunami will hit. Francisco Ablong, Physics Professor said that having a tsunami in Dumaguete was slim since we are surrounded by islands. Nothing to worry no tsunami will hit your places, announced by local and national news. You can see below the list of places that was affected by the earthquake.

Please don't believe on this text no instrument can detect an upcoming earthquake, it is just a false alarm. It was believe as a Modus operandi by thief's.

Report 02/06/2012:
At exactly 11:49 AM, an earthquake stumbles7, 20 Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental Philippines. There were three earthquakes recorded an the magnitude are as follows: 6.8, 4.8, 5.6. The people panicked and gathers outside the street. The ground seems like swaying from left to right, and you feel dizzy afterwards. It was the first earthquake in Dumaguete City for the year 2012. Thank God there were no tsunamis since Dumaguete City is beside the sea. There were many aftershocks experience. The scope maybe of the earthquake is wide since it has a great intensity that it makes the concrete buildings shake. Probably the affected areas, are Negros Oriental and Occidental or the whole Visayas Region. For now, there were no related accidents regarding the earthquake. At total of 2 earthquake was experience and felt, some sources say that the earthquake was felt also in Cebu City, and the measurement of the earthquake is almost the same with Dumaguete City.
Earthquake Update:
Another earthquake was experience at exactly 12:19 PM February 6, 2012. It was "intense", quoted from one of the comments below the post. The other earthquake or aftershocks was short but still the intensity of the earthquake was great. I hope that no one is hurt in this incident. Himalalud - landslide affected highways, and destroyed birdges
Dumaguete City - many places in the city like Junob, people panicked and some of them meet accidents because the of the rumor that tsunami was coming, which is not true. Many people are going to Tierra Alta, Valencia to watch strange occurrences beside shorelines.
